The day before my operation

Two days to my bypass surgery. The weekend that had just passed was uneventful.I stayed home most of the Saturday framing up pictures and later on Sunday , my brothers and sisters came over to say good luck and wished me all the best.I felt I got the support to face the task ahead.

That Monday I went to work. I talked with a few friends in the canteen and told some friends at work about my pending surgery. I met my staff in the morning meeting, and visited Dr Yong who gave strong words of encouragement.I feel good about this surgery.

I had a good lunch with Hamzah ,but didnt say anything about the surgery.I ran errands drawing money from my deposit for some payments and later in the evening went for an hour workout in the park. I felt like nothing is happening.

My wife on the other hand looked very worried. She had informed all her friends and brothers of my surgery , and they have organised prayers for my wellbeing. I felt very touched. and even sinful for not praying to God for my own wellbeing. Deep in my heart I felt I should.

I had taken this surgery in a matter of facts manner.I have convinced myself that surgery is the best option for me, and am positive that it would work, afterall it is the surgeon who said that the chance of a sucessful operation is 99%. I had accepted that the 1 % risk is something I am going to take, and I submit to the fate and God's wishes.
