Ikah Got Married

Nor Atikah got married to Simran.I told Ikah, as she was affectionately known to me, the marriage was made in heaven. Ikah has known Simran's parent for many years when they were the few Malaysians in Calgary Canada, where Dr Intan, Ikah's mother in law was teaching.Ikah and Simran's parent got on fine very well. Later my wife and me too became Dr Intan's friend. One thing led to another. When Simran was back from Australia, Simran and Ikah get acquainted and the acquaintance quickly developed into friendship , which later led to their matrimony. I call it fate.

Being my only daughter, I brought up Ikah with so much care and love. I gave her the best education, learning in good school, college and university. Ikah was taught to be independant, speaking her mind out and not having opinion and prejudice on people. She has grown up to be confident, willing to try new things in life and having many friends. When she returned from Canada, she had no problem landing into a job, indeed she had changed jobs 3 times ever since.

Because I had trained Ikah to speak her mind out, she had become my critics, especially when she was in her teen. She would question my instructions and objected my proposals. She was very tough to deal with when she was in her resistance mode. She would throw tantrum, but of course she would cool off very fast and became very apologetic. I realise that after her 5 years in Canada, her temparament had mellowed, and she had grown to be a nice daughter when she returned.

Simran, Ikah's hubby, is a well brought up boy, very much loved by her parent, since he was the eldest of two children. Like Ikah , he had a good education, and had stayed half of his life overseas. Both Ikah and Simran have similiar socio-economic background, post merdeka generations, and I believe their relationship would strike the right cord. I pray for the sucess of their marriage.
